EuroGeographics members hear more about ELF

More than 60 delegates from National Mapping, Cadastral and Land Registry Authorities in 32 countries participated in EuroGeographics' recent Extraordinary General Assembly.
 
Held in Leuven, Belgium on 10 and 11 May, the event included a number of presentations on the ELF Project and future European Location Services. 
 
Antti Jakobsson, ELF Project Coordinator, provided an update on progress and described how the European Location Framework enables access to authoritative reference data. Wernher Hoffmann, Chair of EuroGeographics ELF Programme Board and Mick Cory, Secretary General and Executive Director, EuroGeographics then shared thoughts on a future strategy and vision.
 
The session conlcuded with a series of presentations from members focussing on data supply, quality control, the technical infrastructure, product development and business issues. Speakers included Martin Salzmann from Kadaster, The Netherlands; Olaf Magnus Østensen from Statens Kartverk, Norway and David Henderson from Ordnance Survey.
